Fezz Gaia Mini MM/MC is a compact active phono preamplifier for moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges. The Evolution model uses a Burr-Brown OPA2132 operational amplifier and a stabilised supply with an EI power transformer.
Cartridge matching and equalisation
A rear MM/MC selector configures the cartridge input, with a 47-kilohm load for MM operation and 100 ohms for MC. The manufacturer's model-specific manual lists 53 dB MM gain and 60 dB MC gain. RIAA equalisation prepares the cartridge signal for a conventional line-level input on an integrated amplifier or preamplifier.
Analogue connections and enclosure
Stereo RCA input and output sockets connect the turntable and following amplifier. A grounding terminal and ground-loop switch support installation, while the separate enclosure keeps the phono stage independent of the main amplifier. Anti-vibration feet and an illuminated logo complete the Evolution chassis. Black Ice, Big Calm, Burning Red, Evergreen, Moonlight, Republika and Sunlight finishes provide a choice of presentation.
