Fezz Gaia Prestige is a valve phono preamplifier for moving-magnet, high-output moving-coil and moving-coil cartridges. Its amplification circuit uses two selected low-noise 12AU7/ECC82 valves with a stabilised supply and Toroidy.pl Audio Grade toroidal transformer.
Cartridge settings and analogue gain
The manufacturer specifies 42 dB gain for MM operation and 60 dB for MC operation. Corresponding input sensitivities are four millivolts and half a millivolt. RIAA equalisation prepares the cartridge signal for connection to a normal line-level input on an integrated amplifier or preamplifier.
Valve access and system connection
The upper panel gives access to the valves for suitable replacement and servicing. Stereo RCA input and output connections provide the analogue signal path, with grounding terminals for turntable installation. The Evolution enclosure is offered in Black Ice, Big Calm, Burning Red, Evergreen, Moonlight, Republika and Sunlight. Its separate chassis places the valve phono stage between the turntable and a suitable line-level amplifier.
