Fezz Gaia MM/MC is an active phono preamplifier for moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges. The Evolution model uses a Burson V5i operational amplifier and a stabilised supply with a Toroidy.pl Audio Grade toroidal transformer.
Cartridge gain and RIAA equalisation
Separate MM and MC settings provide manufacturer-listed gains of 53 dB and 60 dB. The input load is 47 kilohms for MM cartridges or 100 ohms for MC cartridges. RIAA equalisation restores the tonal balance of a vinyl signal before it reaches a conventional line-level amplifier input.
Analogue-system integration
Stereo RCA sockets connect the turntable and the following integrated amplifier or preamplifier. Rear-panel ground connections support installation with a compatible turntable. The compact enclosure keeps the phono circuitry in a separate chassis from the main amplifier. Black Ice, Big Calm, Burning Red, Evergreen, Moonlight, Republika and Sunlight finishes provide a choice of enclosure colours.
