The Avantgarde Acoustic Colibri C18 is an active low-bass module built around a 460 mm driver and an integrated C-AMP 1200 amplifier. It extends a suitable loudspeaker system with a manufacturer-specified operating range of 18–120 Hz.
Large driver and DSP control
The large diaphragm is specified for ±10 mm linear movement, allowing substantial air displacement without relying on a small cone travelling extreme distances. The amplifier delivers 1,200 watts RMS. A digital crossover and six-band parametric equaliser provide adjustment for the main speakers, placement and room, with Colibri Control software offering access to the DSP settings.
Connections and installation
Balanced XLR and RCA inputs accept a suitable preamplifier or subwoofer signal. Matching daisy-chain outputs allow additional bass modules, and the RCA output can be configured with a high-pass filter. Automatic standby responds to the presence of an audio signal. USB is provided for control and firmware, rather than music playback. Grey-White and Black finishes coordinate with Colibri speakers, with mounting accessories available separately.
