The Meze Audio POET is a wired open-back planar-magnetic headphone developed with Rinaro Isodynamics. Its compact MZ6 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver brings two voice-coil geometries together within an ovoid transducer designed for circumaural listening.
Planar driver and acoustic tuning
The 92 × 63 mm driver uses Rinaro’s Parus diaphragm, with an active area of 3,507 square millimetres. The switchback and spiral coil regions shape how different frequency ranges reach the ear. An Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System, licensed from Dan Clark Audio, covers selected driver-frame openings to control high-frequency behaviour.
Construction and long-term use
A 55-ohm impedance and 101 dB SPL/mW sensitivity define its amplifier-matching requirements. Dual 3.5 mm TS sockets accept the detachable headphone cable, while magnetic earpad attachment makes pad changes straightforward. Meze designed the chassis to be disassembled and serviced, supporting long-term care. The Copper-toned grille and contrasting Silver metalwork form one coordinated finish, with a total headphone weight of 405 grams.
