Product details
The Meze Empyrean II is an open-back planar-magnetic headphone developed with Rinaro Isodynamics. Its MZ3 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver combines two voice-coil patterns in a single diaphragm, with an ovoid shape that follows the area around the ear.
Refined driver and acoustic tuning
Meze revised the acoustic tuning to reveal more detail while retaining the approachable character of the original Empyrean. The 32-ohm design uses Rinaro’s lightweight Isoplanar diaphragm, suspended between a hybrid neodymium magnet array. A CNC-machined aluminium frame has a matte-black finish with silver accents and a redesigned Art Deco-inspired grille.
Comfort and serviceability
A carbon-fibre headband structure supports the suspended headrest. Magnetically attached ear pads can be exchanged without tools; Duo pads combine leather and Alcantara, while angled Alcantara pads offer another fit and tuning option. Dual four-pin mini-XLR inputs accept detachable cables. The open design allows sound to escape and provides little isolation from the surrounding room.
