The Sony IER-M9 is a wired in-ear monitor with five balanced-armature drivers per earpiece. Its Penta BA arrangement includes a magnesium-diaphragm super tweeter, developed for detailed monitoring on stage and personal listening.
Purpose-built armatures and magnesium structure
Sony’s T-shaped armature directly drives the diaphragm. An integrated magnesium inner housing holds the driver units in place, while a short, wide magnesium sound path manages the route to the ear. The lightweight magnesium-alloy outer housing provides a durable enclosure.
Fit and detachable connections
Pre-formed ear hangers support a secure over-ear fit. Six sizes of Triple Comfort tips and seven sizes of Hybrid Silicone tips provide a wide choice of seals. Two detachable silver-coated oxygen-free copper cables offer conventional stereo and 4.4 mm balanced connections, each around 1.2 metres long. A carrying case, cable holder, clip and cleaning cloth are included.
